I remember making some patches many months ago that fixed file opening delays on win32, but those problems were nothing like this. I can confirm the issue on Ubuntu 8.04 with all plugins turned off. gedit/gedit/gedit-app-win32. (Disabling the codecompletion does not improve anything) There is definitely something wrong on linux platform. I tried to open it with geany and gedit, it takes less than a second. I opened the file on hardy using codeblocks 5020 (from LGP repository) and it took about 12-15 seconds to open it. Same here (same revision, too), for sure less than a second. (b) Open Edit->Preferences select the Editor tab. /mingw64/bin/gedit.exe links against libgedit-3.38.dll, but that isnt in PATH.How is the gmodule code supposed to be reached if the linker at load time before it will 100 fail some quick google gives me that 'delayed dll loading' might be whats needed here, so the linking only happens when the symbols are first used, but not sure.
